MTA Benefits offers several group term life insurance plans so you can choose the program that best suits your requirements. MTAB has also increased the maximum amount of insurance available to $500,000. Plus, premium rates for non-tobacco users of all ages have been reduced. Additional rate discounts are available for individuals age 40 and over who choose $100,000 or more of coverage.
The newly improved plan, written through Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company, also offers:
- Optional accidental death and dismemberment benefit: $50,000 for $.50 cents a week, $100,000 benefit for $1.00 a week
- Accidental death and dismemberment with seat belt and education riders at no additional cost
- Convenient electronic funds transfer option for premium payments
